# Failure to obey a police officer ticket?

My brother just called me, knowing I have extensive experience with tickets and police…
They gave him a “failure to obey a police officer” ticket, telling him that the first officer was waving for him to stop. My brother explained the hand motions and I don’t think anyone would have said that was a “stop now” motion.
I searched online to find out more about the ticket and on the DMV website I can’t find anything. It doesn’t seem to be a ticket involving points.
Does anyone know what this ticket is all about? Is it a fine without points?

It’s a summons not a traffic violation. A tire low should not be chirping on acceleration. Sounds like your brother fucked up

**He’s not trying to fight the ticket! He just wants to know what the hell it is… ignore my “Why” it happened and just tell me what the ticket is.**
waving/raising your arms up and down quickly with palms towards the ground. I’ve done it to kids flying down the street in my old neighborhood.
Telling him to stop would be maybe pointing or some sort of gesture instructing him to pull over?
As for low tire pressure, he was turning towards his front tire which had no tire pressure. The car leaned and the opposite tire chirped. As for why he got pulled over, I could care less. I had something similar happen to me before, so out of experience I’ll tell you both you’re wrong 🙂 In a straight line, sure… I couldn’t imagine it being possible to chirp the tire.
So, what does a summons mean rather than a traffic violation? A fine?

A summons usually means you go to court with the people who have been caught with drugs,assault charges etc.
basically just a different court night.
and if you skip out, you will have a warrant for your arrest, but your license will not be suspended.
The traffic violation that would relate to this ticket would be: “failure to yeild to emergency vehicle” which I received when I ran and got caught.

I’ve never received a “failure to obey” appearance ticket like you did, I only got a traffic ticket.
it was the equivlent to not pulling out of the way for an ambulance…I think like $30 fine

Ok well you were not involved. I would put money on the cop putting his arms out to stop. Your brother probably figured oh fuck it and tried to ignore the cop. However he was stopped. Buffalo cops usually don’t wrongfully fuck with people in cars. It was flat enough to the point it squealed in turns. The tire was not even drivable. Had probably 8lbs of air. Which I doubt. Basically your brother ass clowned and is worried you will tell dad.
