# failvis again

i know this is a ploy, however i will oblige your request.
on 7/27 my scheduled shift was 730am til 530 pm. i punched out at 530 pm went to gather my things and was about to leave when a customer arrived to get their car. i got their car for them and after them bitching and complaining for 20 minutes about how the car wasnt washed, etc they finally left. this is 550pm now and i have been off the clock for 20 minutes. i re-gather my things and leave the building. the receptionist runs out of the building saying how the previous customer just called and complained about the condition of the car etc… i was told that customer was in the parking lot. i made a trip around the vw/audi lot at well as the chrysler jeep lot. the customer was not in sight. being that it was then nearly 6pm and i had been off the clock for 30 minutes and i saw no sign of the customer i left. upon arriving for my shift on 7/28 i was told that i had abandoned a customer and that my services were no longer needed. mind you all of this happened beyond my scheduled hours of work. i have a claim in with the ny labor board currently about the legality of termination, however i do believe langan is an at will employer so employment can be terminated at any time for any reason… it was a bullshit reason without a doubt. so now make me look like a fool for leaving 30 minutes after my shift ended… please.

There is always 3 sides to a story . His /hers/the truth . This isn’t all I’m sure as it was 1 minor offense

offense? i dont see how theres ANY issue here. i could have just left at 530 and said fuck off as it was already past my time to leave. i stayed to help out a customer past my scheduled hours and they let me go because the customer was not happy… that is horseshit if thats how u treat employees. while i agree there are 3 sides to everything, that is the only issue i was made aware of when being let go. that was their reasoning and the ONLY reason presented to me. i was on time every day for the job and did it well. grasping at straws for sure. if there was something other than what i posted that they had an issue with i believe i should have been informed of such issues… which i never was. thats life though. on to bigger and better…

Travis, its not a good idea to badmouth potential/current/past employers on the internet in this day and age. That kind of thing tends to backfire on people. The fact that you had to stay ANY amount of time after your shift ended is 100% normal. Employers dont want people who walk in on time and disappear 5 seconds after clocking out simply because their shift is done. Showing up early and leaving late is one of MANY ways of showing yourself in a good way to any employer. You shouldnt tell customers they got ripped off(true or false doesnt apply here, just the fact that you said it) is a really bad idea, dude. it’s really about who you know now, you next potential employer might be a good friend of somebody who will tell them what you did.

yea, im still alive. somehow. im around. im mainly reading and shaking my head. its not just the automotive industry tho, its everything. you never really know who is who or who you will meet. its more about not cutting off somebody, cuz that somebody might be a judge that otherwise would have let u go on a bullshit light out ticket instead of giving you maximum fine and etc etc, ya follow? employers now look for social media sites, youd be surprised how something they can see there and misunderstand could ruin your chances at getting a job. just be careful, man.

im well aware of any ramifications of my actions before i do them now. i may have been blind to that before but im much more calculated in what i do and how i do things lately. there is now a method to my insanity.
