$277 ticket, 4points, for doing 97 in a 60.

any more info on the situation?
place cop on side of road? passing cop going other way, tailing cop?
location of incident?
what kind of paper work did he give you?
knocked down?
any previous tickets?
accidents?
give me everything and ill contemplate what your options are

Prev. tickets include tint/exhaust/somethin ($330 - 0 points). I fought it
and paid $20 in court. Took over a year before I got my court date. This
was in 2002; I forget.
I have been legally driving for just almost 5 years and I’ve had 0 tickets
and 0 points to date. The $330 one above doesn’t really count and isn’t
even on my record.
How it happened.
I took a left turn onto Hwy 10 from Mayfield and as usual I started to
speed since the lanes are pretty open.
Now I’m always on the lookout because on these roads (being very open)
I do generally driver over the limit.
As I reached my 97KM/h, I happened to notice a black Impala about a KM
down the road, waiting in a driveway. I slowed down as soon as I saw
him but by that time he started to roll slowly forward. I knew I was busted.
As I passed him I saw him pull out behind me. He followed me for a good
KM or so and then pulled me over.
He showed me the gun with the speed, made small chit-chat, shared a
few laughs and gave me my ticket. He urged me to fight it and not just
pay for it. Don’t know if all cops do this but he did.
Anywho I talked it over with my dad/bro about what’s best to do.
I figure I go to X-Copper or whatever and get them to deal with it.
I guess one good reason i can give for speeding was that seeing how
I just came out of the intersection, I was speeding to pass a car in front
of me (the do teach you to speed up to pass). 🙂
I don’t mind paying the fine; I just don’t want the points.
I should mention that I’m still on G2 :oops: (late bloomer, failed G
twice). My next G test is on April 8th.

Way before the Food Basics. This was right as I turned onto 10 from
Mayfileld. And I’ve gone 100+ almost everytime I’ve driven down there.
Oh well, lesson learned, gonna take it easy for a while.

u only have one option, and that is option 3 on the back of the ticket.

and when I’m not in some convoy or something or with a group of ppl.

i have insurance because i FIGHT MY TICKETS ALL THE TIME!!!
i deserved every single one of those tickets, and i deserved far worse than what i got last night. i dont defend my actions, i can admit that the officer had solid grounds to take my license and car away…
but i am still going to fight it and at the WORST have one eliminated and the other reduced…

Pfft only 10 tickets? Weak.
I’ve had a dozen tickets at least. One of them being 180km/on the highway. I was originally going 230 or so, and cop decided to not suspend my license on the spot. Most of these tickets were with the Corolla. God forbid i fuk around in my S14, or S13.
I also fought my friends tickets for them.
Gonad, go to HWY Law. Xcopper prices are way too high.

Ya because of Bing I am fighting my 70km in a 60km zone reduced ticket oh and the court just sent my a notice saying there will be a hearing for adjornment of the first trial because the officer wants to be on leave. I am going to go and try to get the judge to not grant approvel to move it back and to toss the case out.

My last ticket was over 3 years ago, thankfully! Since i don’t get many I never thought of fighting one, i should of before since I had a ticket that was clocked by following me for 5-10kms…

Hey G.
If the cop was as nice as you said, and offered that little piece of advice to fight it, he’s probabley telling you without telling you that he’s not going to show up. The ticket is just part of his quota, so I’d say fight it for sure and don’t go through those X-Copper places. All they do is plea bargin for you, that’s it. You can do that yourself.
Here’s what you do, just in case the cop does show up. Talk to him prior to entering the court, he’ll most likely help you talk to the Crown once your inside, and just be honest and say it was lack of judgement on your part, that you don’t have any speeding tickets, your record overall is clear and that your hoping something can done to protect your driving record. Im almost 100% positive you’ll get 10-15 over, no points and $50.00 fine with 3 months to pay.
Don’t bother with stories or excuses man, just be honest that you did it, your sorry and this is an out of chracter thing for you. Judges appreciate that more then stories. What I described above is EXACTLY what those ticket fighting places do. It’s a plea bargin that you can save money doing yourself. You don’t need those guys at all for something as small as this.
Trust me man I’ve doing ALL of my own tickets for a long time now including the, bull shit, careless driving charge I got last year when I had my accident. Which inncidentley Im free and clear on. The cop who gave me the ticket retired last year, both of the two people in the car that I hit were not summoned, so the Crown had no choice but to withdraw the charges and I got nothing! 😃😃😃
