Nothing beats Cherry Valley Motorsports out near Syracuse/Cortland. Went out there with a few of the guys on here like 4 years ago and it was way better than GPNY, this place, or that new place in Carousel Mall in Syracuse.

^i’ve been there, it’s a good place. AJ’s in buffalo was my favorite place, but this past year they shut down after someone flipped a car over and sued. their cars were stupid fast, wayyyy too fast for the track, soo much fun

That place in Rensselaer is still there? I thought even the building was gone.
If its open why doesnt anybody on here go to it?
The place just off 787, not Fun Plex.

That indoor place is long gone. Building was demolished years ago. They are now building something where it used to be now.

I thought it was long gone. I was working in Rensselaer all last week and didnt see it so I was like WTF when I saw this post:

why hasnt anybody set anything up there? We should do it some saturday afternoon.
Johnstown is less than an hour from Albany so its pretty close for most people on here.

Yeah, the place in rensselaer used to be a toy store when I was little. There was a shopping center (sort of like a macy’s) closer to 9&20) called Joys and then the shop in the back was “Toy’s for Joy” that was later turned into a track IIRC (my memory isint the best)
But yeah, thats been long gone. There was a grossmens hardware store that somehow laster for years, but finally got demo’ed for a strip mall.
Hopefully that, and what they are trying to build where the hold highschool used to be by the river it raises property values, can cash out on properties and move to the country

There were a few Joy/Toys for Joy stores around. In Clifton Park the plaza where Northern Lights is had both and where Walmart is in Rotterdam was a strip mall with both.
I remember going there on my birthday as a kid and getting to open a treasure chest with prizes in it.
In Rensselaer Regeneron is big and getting bigger. Thats where I worked all week last week.

Just an FYI for military/fire/police with proper ID Mon-Thur is $25 for 2 races and Fri-Sun is 10% off standard races.

Checkersout is right down the road from me…used to race there quite a bit when they first opened. It’s fun since there’s nothing much to do in this area but it’s most certainly not worth an hour drive…it’s a verrrrry small track.

I think checkers out is where we went after one of the fuel economy runs. It was fun but nothing too special. I remember the carts being slow too.
