The 1962-1963 Ferrari GTOs are, last I checked, the most expensive street cars/classics on the planet. The 275GTB and GTB/4 were descended from it, and it was the last of a very successful racing platform (the 250). They have a dog-leg first gear because it was only used for pit-roads and getting to the winner’s circle.

Until recently, Ferrari used to destroy all of its old race cars and cannibalize them. Now they sell off their obsolescent F1 cars for huge money as track toys. This practice of destroying the cars made pieces like the 250 GTO extremely rare. There may be a dozen of them left, at most.

I think they’ve got some of the sexiest sheetmetal Ferrari ever produced - certainly some of the most influential.
