id personally go 1.75" .120 wall if its gonna see multiple impacts.

the weight difference per foot of the .095 and .120 is less than 1/2lb per foot, cant be more than 15lbs difference on this project

At most it would be cones/55gal drums/animals/small children, the usual.

I didnt mean 1.75 for the whole thing, just for the jack point if its going to be used regularly. Front of the car is heavy and you basically have to recreate another subframe off the rails funneled to a single jack point.

True, I’ll have to see what I have to work with as far at mounting points.

For anything that just supports the bumper, try round stock steel a la stock cars. Lightness:

^ exactly. just the actual main structure needs to be heavy. If you’re looking to integrate support for the bumper, make that portion out of lighweight aluminum tubing off pinlocks on the main crash beam. Reduce overhanging weight as much as possible.

More bumper bar was built so heavy because I had no front core supports due to the motor swap, and the bar was the front subframe/coresupports/tie ins for the whole front end. It was multitasking.

1.5" .095 wall is more than adequate for this, even for the jackpoint when triangulated correctly.
