Awhile back I remember trying to get something like this going because I have always wanted to do it. There was a lot of interest but in usual Shift fashion it never happened. So lets make it work this time! What I am looking for is something similar to a BullRun event, minus the challenges. It would be nice to make it a fairly long event that would at least take the whole day. I’ll throw some ideas below as far as date/time/route etc. **Event:** 1st Annual ShiftRun 2010 (Free) **Date:** August 22nd, 2010 (All day event) This run is basically a huge circle. If we leave at 10AM we should reach the finish line at approx 5PM. **How it works:** At each checkpoint, go inside the location listed to get a ticket that proves your arrival to the checkpoint. Whoever arrives to the finish line first, is first, second, is second, etc etc. **Purse:** There will be a purse and all attendees must pay $10. All proceeds will go towards rewarding 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winners. **Rules:** - Speeding is NOT encouraged. If you do speed you do so at your risk. The process of getting a ticket is only going to take away from the valuable time that you need. - You may take any route that you wish to take as long as it gets you to your checkpoint. - Numbers will be provided at the starting line. When you pick up your checkpoint ticket, you must get the ticket with your number. (This is why there is a registration). **Where:** - **Start: Thatcher State Park.** Registration begins at 9AM. **- Checkpoint #1:** Cooperstown General Store **45 Main Street, Cooperstown, NY 13326** **- Checkpoint #2:** The Beachcomber **512 Main Street. Sylvan Beach, NY 13157 - Checkpoint #3: Gas Station in Cinncinatus NY. - End: Thatcher State Park.** Here is the attendance list, there is plenty of time to fit this into your plans so please do not sign up unless you are 100% going to attend. Fantastic idea, but remember Adam, 75 percent of the cars here NEVER leave the Capital Region. Rumor has it that ‘black (N) boxes’ kill their ignitions shortly after crossing The Twins on 87N. ---

If I’m gonna drive all day I’m going to Myrtle Beach again. I am too broke to bomb around the Capital Region racking up tickets. ---
