# First dSLR camera lense upgrade

I don’t have a Nikon, but i do have a DSLR. I have the Canon XTi. I got the 18-55 kit lens. Its ok, but i wanted more zoom for Solo and other racing. So i read and read, on Canon forums, [http://www.fredmiranda.com/](http://www.fredmiranda.com/) and others.
I ended up spending more than i hoped but i got a amazing lens the 70-200F4L
I don’t have any car shots with this lens, but i do have a few of my dog (it was the nice day we had last month and i was avoiding working on my kitchen remodel)
I would like more zoom, but to get the quality that i got i would have had to spend $1000 more, and well that is just not a option. But i have thought about the 1.4 extender and that would get me to 280mm zoom… Not too bad, about what i would want. But if you are going to be taking many pics at full zoom you are going to want a mono/tripod, unless you have ROCKS for hands.
At about 100ft and at 200mm
At about 20ft and at 70mm zoom
At about 20ft and full 200mm zoom

Oh and BH is very easy and FAST to deal with. I will go back to them, they have GREAT prices, and are trustworthy. That is who i got my 70-200 from.

:tup: to the example pictures, especially the 100ft@200mm. That’s pretty much exactly the amount of zoom I want to have for wakeboarding. The tow rope for wakeboarding is about 60 feet and the tube rope is a little longer so 200mm should be more than enough to get some great shots.

Yes i think that 200mm will work well for wakeboarding.

I’d spend the money on a good 28-200mm lens. Long explination but it would be a ton more convenient.
