nsx are sweet, I’ve always liked them. but like dave said I believe they are a bit overpriced. At 30-40 for a car ~15 years old i’d rather have a newer lotus myself

nice man i got a good look at that car when it was in the pits. how much of a pita was the oil scavenge system for that? makes me want one real real bad. what psi were those runs done on?

I vote build a locost7 mid engine with a supercharged j37. At $30-40k you can make a real driver that outhandles and outdrives most things on tue road and track.
Or keep it light and use a 4cyl…
A guy on [k20a.org](http://k20a.org) made a kit car with a k engine turbo and it weighed under 1400lbs.
But if your after a nsx for looks the locost7 may not be the best choice. But damn do they perform. Also I am sure theres a few local shops that can do the work.

a diy locost 7 can cost $10k to $15-20k and it will rip apart $100,000 cars.
i feel since the performance car was created it can only advance so far. this is the old car that still beats new performance cars. this lotus chassis has been around for a bit and it still amazes me.

Forged crankshaft, titanium rods as state, but cast pistons so the same weak areas as the B series. The ringlands tend to let go with even a slight amount of detonation. It uses an open deck, I haven’t heard of a cracked sleeve but there aren’t many NSX owners pushing them very hard though.

Runs were done at 9psi. I think it would have picked up another mph or 2 if I raised the rev limiter a bit.
Scavenge system wasn’t too bad, I used a Turbowerx exapump which has great reliability reviews. I plumbed it up to the valve covers which made it a lot easier than dropping the oil pan which required the removal of the forward header. I also had a reservoir made right below the outlet of the turbo so there is an immediate area for the oil to go from the turbo.

So in your opinion it’s better than an nsx in the “performace category,” whatever the hell that entails to you, so therefore the cars are comparable? I’d say the nsx is closer to a god damn ferrari than that thing, since, i may be wrong but, the nsx is considered a super car. Locust looks more like a t-bucket from Mars than a sports car.
