# first kill(ed) in the mazda :(

on road XX leaving school 2nt and a friend of mine in a cobb stage2(invdidia DP/HKS carbon-ti exhaust/intake) pulls out in front of me.
we catch a light and both turn left, he slowly pulls out in the right lane, i in the left. 3 beeps and its on(doing about 20mph, me in 2nd, he in 1st) he jumps on me 2 cars instantly(i did not brake boost/had lag) and he then shifts immediately into second which allows my boost to peak and catch him. i shift to 3rd, he winds out second, pulls two cars on me again and we run to about 100-110 with him 2 cars ahead and not pulling anymore.
cliffnotes; stock speed3 gets pulled 2 cars then keeps pace with stage2 STi.

p.s. i would really like to see what i can do against him with (cat-back)exhaust/intake which is supposedly extremely helpful for my weak top end

seems like a stage2 sti should pull more then 2 cars on a stock speed3.

You need the pcm upgrade, i have read that it works wonders…

sounds like he drives like me when roll racing :bloated:
I would think even stock for stock he should have you? what does the speed 3 weigh?

regaurdless of what they weigh the speed3 traps @ 98-99mph stock a stg2 sti should be a hell of alot higher than that right?

I believe my uncle says that 100lbs can change your 1/4 mile time by a tenth.

i weight close to 3200lbs. with me in the vehicle. have yet to get a chance to scale her.
i need the pcm upgrade badly.
–i was alone in the car, he had a passenger and i weigh less.
–i would like to see this car run with no interior.

the whole 100lbs = .10 is 90% of the 60ft time… thats where it makes a big difference, now being this was a roll race yes weight in fact plays a big deal but not nearly as much as if it was from a dig… and you can have a car that weighs 500lbs if you trap @98 and the other weighs 8000lbs and he traps @110 he wins from a roll every time!!!

black. not always on campus. i usually have my teg with me since rit parking is horrible.
