# First major mod completed! 56k go make me a sammich!

I wanted a master suite so I decided to go from this:

And here’s the pictorial. I’ve still gotta do some trimwork and spray the ceiling, but it came out pretty good for an inexperienced hack. 😛
Pulled up the trim before I knocked down the drywall!
Then had at the demolition. 😃
Knocked down the framing I wanted to move. Good, the ceiling didn’t fall in. :tup:
Took out the useless coat closet.
Might as well ditch that nasty old rug while I’m at it.
Moved the doorframe to where I want it. Ran the wiring for the hallway and bedroom switches. Rewired the hallway and bedroom switches when the bedroom switch turned on the hallway light.:ham:
Hung new drywall. Learned that with enough drywall mud anyone can be a craftsman! :bloated:
Had the little woman pick some paint.
Had the new rug thrown down, and done!
I’m prepared to kill these two if they even think about pissing on my new carpet!
Then back to the office Monday so I can afford to pay for this shit.

Yeah, it’s definitely fun to mess with the house (I can’t wait to re-landscape the backyard.) I actually gained a lot of space by knocking out the corner and knocking out this goofy coat closet thing. I’m actually kinda curious now. Hold on, I’ll go measure…

THe corner was 5x4 and the coat closet thing was like 5x1 so I gained 25 ft^2 of unused/hallway space. Which bring the bedroom to 220 ft^2. Plus it has kind of a nice cozy feel to be able to stumble out of bed and into the shower in the morning without leaving my bedroom. :gotme:
