# Fluorescent lights- For Garage

I have 2 set of Fluorescent lights for sale. each set holds 2 96inch bulbs. These were in the kitchen of my apartment and were removed because I redid the kitchen. These would be great lights for a garage. I would like to sell everything together (2 sets of lights and 6 bulbs)
Asking $75 best offer (the bulbs alone are $7 each). They basically look like this, but I have two of them (holds 4 bulbs total)

Are they T8’s or T12’s? If they are T12’s they are just about worthless.

T8 has rapidly become the standard in typical lighting applications. The bulbs are much more energy efficient, produce better light output, have a much longer lifespan, do not need to be High Output and Cold Start aka $$ to work in the winter, and the ballasts are much cheaper to replace. T12 has always been a magnetic ballast system which has significant environmental impacts when they are thrown out, the mfg’s have been required to switch to electronic ballasts but they are still large and expensive for a good ballast.
T5 is the high end standard for highbay lighting and even some lowbay when properly spec’d on a project.

Did they also tell you that the number after the “t” is the diameter of the bulb in 8’ths?
LOL
I know way too much about this shit. It is part of my job description though. I can’t imagine how my lighting engineer would have answered this. It may have been four pages!

he may have… he was just talking about one of the lights was flickering in my office… he suggested we overhaul the office :lol:
I lost interest in what he said right then.
