no numbers last year, i ran pretty dead even with BigAirSkier from a 50 roll, thats all i have to go by. im hoping to break 250whp after tunning. aiming for a 13.7 in the 1/4

Not bad at all. Him and I did a few pulls a few years ago. I got the jump till about 80ish then he’d creap by me. But that was back when all I had was a 3.4 pulley and pushing 224whp. Hope to see you around this year. Keep up the nice work :tup:

why the adapter thing, why not just mount the turbo directly to that manifold? or if lowering it was a concern why not build a longer collector for that manifold…

</div>

the adaptor thing is because the header is stainless and im working in mild steel, and clearance is also an issue. the adaptor basically serves as an extension, and works good just enough to place it in a good spot between the fans and where the oil seperator mounts on the block

</div>

well, to do it i thought you need a tig welder and have to use NIrod which is nickel rod made for dissimilar metals

Welding together of different metals, such as of Grade 304 to Grade 430 or a stainless steel to a mild steel, can be carried out, although some extra precautions need to be taken. It is usually recommended that over-alloyed austenitic welding rods, such as Grade 309, be used to minimise dilution effects on the stainless steel component. The composition of the weld deposit resulting from dissimilar grade welding is shown in the Schaeffler diagram or its successors by De Long and more recently the WRC. AS 1554.6 contains a table giving the pre-qualified consumables for each combination of dissimilar metal welds

nickel rod is only used to weld cast iron to steel or somethign if i remember right, i dont remember

well, i had no idea, its a little late to swap it, and im happy with the way it is coming out, plus we are working with an ancient mig welder here. lol

the header is also jethot coated, modifying it would have required grinding it down and fuxoring the finish. and then to migweld some plain sheet metal to it… ick

then what o we do if the header cracks later on ? buy a replacement and modify that one the same way?

what if nick later decided to get a real turbo header made and wants to sell this one … whos gonna buy that hack job ?

at least this way its easy to replace the header if heed be, and the headers still worth something down the road
