# For the IT Gurus: Disabling HDD Lock Password

Hitachi. From what I see on [hddunlock.com](http://hddunlock.com), it’s not a supported drive with their unlock software.

From what I read, it seems that there’s no way to remove the HDD unlock even if you KNOW the password… ☹
