I’m sorry, but you guys keep forgetting one thing here… it’s a damn FORD!
plus that car is one of the uglies POS’s that ever came from Ford…
hp and top speed doesn’t matter when the car will fall apart in less than 5 years…

Yeah, great vid.
You can’t get by the fact that the ford mustang is still one of the best bangs for the buck in terms of flat out horsepower.

I cannot tell you how much I hate Ford cars. They are worse than GM cars. Style, design, reliability, quality… everything!
I know there’s people that love them, but I personally can’t stand them.

I just don’t get how you guys can “love” or “hate” cars.
I have an even harder time understanding how you can hate a car with 500hp and probably about the same TQ. That car must be a monster to drive. Even if it looked like a big brown turb with corn in it…I would rock that any day of the week.

actually apparently this car is approaching the price of a Z06 corvette… the Shelby is well into the $50k region.

Still a pretty good bang for the buck… look at the viper, it is way more than that… and the Z06 isn’t close to that power or light weight.
What else is there even close to that power and price.

The Z06 is 3100lbs 500hp 470lb-ft
the GT500 is **3900** lbs 500hp 480lb-ft
The Z06 is about 30 grand more tho, if you look at MSRP… although for what GT500s are -actually- selling for, the gap closes quite quickly.

simply put Dan, power isn’t everything. Quality, reliability and over all consistency is what sells cars to most people. None of the american manufacturers really have that. That Ford might be a quick car, but that’s all it has going for.
Not to mention that they are really marketing this thing to a very limited (i.e. dying) market. That car is made for those guys that really wanted a muscle car back in the day but couldn’t afford it. That’s one of the reasons it has that retro look and a huge engine in it. They sacrificed everything else though. It certainly isn’t a car that will attract a lot of young people (i.e people that will actually buy one).

Eh? This special shelby mustang thing-a-majiggy gets shillacked by a REGULAR C6 Vette. Don’t believe me? It was in car & driver or something. It was slightly, and I mean slightly quicker in the 1/4 mile, but the C6 Vette ruined it overall.
