> Ford also seeks unspecified damages from Ferrari. Really? C’mon. It’s an F1 car, not something that Ferrari is selling. Either way, I hope Ferrari is let off on the fact that theirs doesn’t have a hyphen in the name. ---

well then i hope BMW and Audi sue Gilette and Schick for the use of “M3” and “Quattro”. If anyhting, Ford should be thanking them, even paying Ferrari for blessing them with the model association. ---

This won’t work. The only way it could is if the 2 “products” could potentially confuse consumers. Nissan sued Audi over the “Q” distinction because Infinity had a Q and Audi was coming out with that Q SUV. That suit went nowhere. ---

not really accurate. they’re not renaming anything > “On the subject of the name of the new Ferrari Formula 1 car, the Maranello company wishes to point out that it has sent a letter of reply to Ford, underlining the fact that the F150 designation (used as the abbreviated version of the complete name, which is Ferrari F150th Italia) never has, nor ever will be used as the name of a commercially available product - indeed there will definitely not be a production run of single-seaters,” the Ferrari statement said. > "In fact, it has always been the case in the history of Scuderia names, that they represent the nomenclature of a racing car project and are linked to a chronological order with a technical basis, or in exceptional cases, to special occasions.
