true but letting the car shift for you is kinda lazy. i mean auto is for cruising not racing. ---

right, ok. tell that to most drag racers. they are consistant, obviously for racing other than drag racing you want a manual so you have total control of the car ---

Most autos you can shift manually in a way. My car I can keep in first, keep in second keep in third and then OD gives 4 th and 5th. No i am not using a clutch and there is substantial lag between gears but i can still up and down shift through all those gears. If I upgraded my car to a gated shifter from the 98 sc400 and added the lextreme shift kit I can manually shift my auto at about the same speed as someone with a real manual. ---
