i just bought a 05’ 500ss with 567km on it. Mint for 3k i guess i got a good deal. this sled looks real nice though. Good luck with the sale

For “Engine” in your specs it says 550SS, and not 500SS like it says in your title.
Is this the 550F Fan cooled engine? Or the 500SS liquid cooled engine?
If its the liquid cooled one, then I know someone who may be interested.

They are going for 5k all over craigslist etc… already had 3 calls on it, so I’m guessing it’s a more than fair price.

it says 500ss right on the body pannel in the pic unless he did a body pannel swap he probably just copy and pasted the wrong specs.
edit\* i worked at a skidoo dealership for 2 years with those miles and from the pics the price is in the right ball park glws man.

While called a 500, it has 550cc’s
and outperforms 600’s, they did it to get a lower insurance rate from my understanding…

yeah that was the big selling point on those that year 0-65 70 ish they pulled hard on sleds with much larger motors.

My dad is looking to buy a sled real soon, and he is going to look at one tonight. But this one seems slightly better. So I will tell him your number and he can call you.
PS - the 500SS models are actually 597cc motors (the 600 motors from the older MXZ’s before the REV came out). So there is no reason to say it would outperform a 600. The new 600 H.O. motors in the REV’s will outperform them and I know from experience. I’m not trying to be picky, I just know a lot about sleds and don’t want mis-leading info. posted.
But anyways… my dad is interested - so PM me your phone number…

Exactly right. I’ve owned both (wife had the GSX500SS) My 06 600HO was faster. Not a ton, but faster.
