# FS: 1996 Saturn SC2

I am selling my winter ride.
It is a 1996 Saturn SC2 5 speed. It is the base model SC2.
Manual windows,
Manual locks,
Manual Mirrors,
Manual seatbelts.
Actually a good setup though. Nothing that will give you problems, like the power options tend to have.
I’ve driven this car all over the place. I bought it in Erie, PA in the beginning of December. I’ve only done plugs/wires to it, along with a new passenger side brake drum. Car has been super reliable for me. I commute 45 miles a day for work, in addition to driving anywhere else I need to go when I’m not working, and has never let me down. Very sound car.
The car is Emerald Green on the outside, that shines up very nice. I buffed it at my work about a month ago, and it looks damn near new. Superium can vouch for the bling effect. The interior is a very dark charcoal/black cloth.
The radio has a cassette deck. I dont know if it works, I don’t have any cassettes, but the AM/FM work great.
The clutch in it engages smoothly, however I believe it is the original. It doesn’t slip.
Exhaust has a pinhole leak, but it never bothered me. Under moderate acceleration, you can hear a “weeeeeeep” sound from underneath.
It does use a little bit of oil. I think I have to add a qrt every 1000 miles or so. Typical for any higher mileage saturn.
The front passenger side headlight cover has some rust forming on it.
The pop up lights do work as they should though.
There seems to be a minor clunk coming from the front passenger side of the car. I believe it to be a strut mount. Super easy to fix, but it never bothered me enough to have reason to change it.
I have a set of full leather interior for the car, if anybody is interested in it, for an additional $100. The backseats is bent a little bit, but with a little finess of the foam rods, it will straighten out.

Also, the driver/passenger mirror is mismatched. I did recently goto M&M and grab a matching mirror for the driverside (most noticable) but was unable to pickup a passenger side yet. If I can find one, I will include it with the sale.

I’m guessing around 150k since its a “higher mileage saturn” :gotme:
edit: Did you have motor/head work done at street design auto a few years back on this?? If you’re the guy I’m thinking about, its a pretty stout little beater.

Car has 130,500 on it. Sorry I didn’t post mileage earlier, I couldn’t remember, but i drove it to work today, and I remembered to check. I will grab some pics today or tomorrow. I’ve got to clean the inside up a little bit at my work, It’s winter time, so its a little dirty from using it.

Yes, that was me, but this is a different car. I sold the built Saturn a long time ago. Miss it though…

i can attest to the reliablity of these cars… i am driving a 98 sc2 same miles (almost exact) … same thing uses oil, but i’ve owned 3 saturns and they all did, and the first only had 30k miles on it. they have never left me stranded and pull great mpg…

Other than the rusty headlight covers, mis-matched colored mirrors and Justin’s crappy camera phone pics the car looks real nice and runs great.
