everyone should know that these are 100% identical to megan racing coilovers… just a heads up before buying if it wasnt already common knowledge… dont mean to shit on your thread or anything greg
same part #, same manufacturer, same springs, etc.

this is nothing like that.
when you buy a clip you are buying more than a clip - it may come with more or less mileage, better condition parts, from a more reputable dealer. You pay for the name in some cases as well.
Just like in this case, you are paying for the apexi name, as opposed to the megan racing name.
apexi probably has a bettery warranty as well I would imagine - I’m not saying this isn’t a good deal - it’s quite fair. I’m merely stating for the noobs on the forum that don’t know any better that these are identical.

I wonder if the quality control, damping variances, failures/1000 units, etc are the same
just because they are made similar (even in the same factory) does NOT make them the same

Alright… to expand on my point a little:
Many companies use a third party to manufacture parts, and along with the dimensions specified for the actual part, you include a limit on the varience of those measurements (just say +/- 0.001 inch). If its beyond that value, its unusable. With greater tolerances you can use shittier/older machines and still make it within spec, not to mention the lower amount of rejects per batch. Cost per unit goes down, but the tradeoff is with the greater amount of discrepancies between per-assembled unit (thus hit-and-miss quality on lower priced units)
