I bought a brand new B&M short shifter about a month and a half to two months ago. I was planning on installing it in the spring, but I have changed my car plans and no longer have a use for it. Does anyone know if you need to drop the tranny a little bit for installation? I have heard you do, and I have also heard that you do not have to. ---

In my experience, yes. The B&M is longer than anyone of the other SS so you need to loosen the tranny mount. Its still very easy to do. ---

i’ve installed a b&m short shifter on my friends car and you do not need to drop the tranny, nor go under the car. just use a wrench and then unloosen them with your fingers. it all matters from what angle you attack it at. took me and my friend 30min to install the first time. ---

I have heard you do, and I have also heard that you do not have to. as far as i know, you don’t need to drop the tranny. i looked at the instructions, doesn’t specify anything about playing around with the tranny position. install instructions are very straight-forward, so installation shouldn’t be an issue. ---

i know you think i lowballed you with 200$ offer, but even pdm racing sell it for 200 us and thats the new version. well its a wise choice to install it on your own car anyways, its tight 🙂 ---
