I’m selling my Escort not because it doesn’t work or because I want to upgrade to a better detector, it’s because I just got a potentially very expensive ticket (not the Escort’s fault, the wire broke so it wasn’t plugged in) and I’ll most likely need the money. This radar is one of the top 3 or 4 detectors out there, the only thing wrong with this one besides a few surface scratches is that the wire doesn’t work that connects the unit itself to the power outlet. If the wire worked, I would be asking $200 even, but since it needs a new wire (hardwire kits are $8-10 (check eBay) and are very easy to install), I’ll be asking $190. EDIT: This comes with the original case, instructions, warrantee info and all the paperwork as well. ---

radar detector wouldnt have saved you. they didnt cite you for speeding, they got you in the act of racing, or attempting to… i got a hefty ticket, and a misdemeanor will cost you, a lawyer usually charges double for that. i went through it not long ago, but im not 17 and my record was flawless to that point so the DA with the help of my lawyer reduced my charges significantly. ---

Did I ever claimed the Escort would have helped me? There were plainclothed officers behind us in unmarked blue/green Malibus, not Impalas. The officer said he would get the ticket dropped to a 2 point violation, I’m not sure if he can/will though. I’m just selling it because I don’t have $200-500 laying around to pay for a ticket and I don’t plan on speeding/racing again anytime soon. ---

trust me ive heard the story. never mentioned impalas, just saying regardless of what detector you had you would have gotten caught. racing in broad daylight isnt the smartest thing you can do. as im sure youre aware now :nono someone called you guys in. and the cop saying he’ll drop it doesnt mean anything. if he cared that much he wouldnt have wrote the ticket how he did and would have given you a 2 point ticket from the start… youll need an attorney as ive told joe. id expect to pay in the 5-700 range between the fine, lawyer and defensive driving you maybe need to take to keep from losing your license since you are still ripe ---
