The upcoming drift season is starting soon, some racing series like the IDRC require that competion cars have roll cages installed that meet or exceed the specifications in the rule book, This is a new product for NCC Performance, the cages are fabricated from 1.75" diametre .125" wall cage tubing mandrel bent and tig welded, this is a bolt in style cage so all pieces will be powder coated the bolt in style allows for best fit and finish…

Kits will be complete with grade 8 mounting hardware.

Cages can be ordered in colour of choice, most colours are available.

Pics will follow in this thread shortly

4 and 5 point cages : $500
main hoop, 2 back drops, 5 point has diaganal brace.

6 point cages with brow bar : $800
main hoop, 2 back with diaganal brace, 2 forward bars (trough dash), brow bar.

8 point cages : $1000
same as above with addition of door braces.

Prices are Canadian tax and delivery included.

OK here I go.

ERW isn’t legal in my books
095 is too thin

minimum requirement for s13’s to race in CASC, SCCA or driftmania

6 point cage: 1.5" OD x 120 thou wall DOM tubing
4 point roll bar: 1.75" OD x 120 thou wall DOM tubing

(ERW is not recommended upon but apparently can pass specs in the rules, personally I would not trust myself with ERW)

Andrew.

wow u have a lot of time, different sanctioning bodies have different rules but I am glad u know everything so go bash product somewhere else, if you want a heavier cage for differant competition it can be done for roughly the same price but since your a smart ass your cost will be double. The first person who orders one like a human will get 25% off, and they will have you to thank.

My cages exceed the cusco safety 21 cages that are 40mm (1.574")by
2mm (.078") wall

Generally I dont post product on son because last time I had to put up with the same shit, and I dont have time for it and neither does bing who went out of his way and moved my post to his section to help me out…

So go be a smart ass and bash some where else!

25% discount still applies for first normal son member thats not gonna bash what I do…

Thanks again

Yeah I do have alot of time, I build cages. I’ve worked on 3 separate ones, 2 are finished 1 is in progress. All 3 are built to CASC spec, thats the sactioning body in Canada. And even CASC rules arn’t as strict as Targa Newfoundland.

I’m not here to bash, I’m here to pass my opinion as an experience member.

I don’t care what Safty-21 is doing, everyone knows cusco is shit. Does that mean because they don’t pass spec, its ok for yours not to pass spec.

The first cages have already been sold. and I have been researching under other rules and some do require a 1.75" od tubing with .120" wall so the new parts will be made from the heavier mat’l to appeal to more people, the old cages where based on Idcr rules as a minimum requirement.

Custom cages can be made if required, I would be more than happy to do so

Here is a pic of 5 point cage.

(5 pt has a “diagonal brace”) meaning you are bracing what exactly ? the hoop or the rear stays ? Because technically, both need to be braced.

Question as well… how are you counting points? to you is a 4 pt just the hoop it self and the rear stays ? then a 5pt is the hoop braced along with the rear stays?

And if Andrew wanted a Cage built for himself that he didnt want to build himself, I think I know where he’d go 😛

Exacly where is the 5th point?
Further, your rear stay and cross brace bolting points are not gusseted, the back plates are also not big enough. They are required to be no less than 20sq. in. and shall be same thickness as cage. The general rule of thumb is 5in x 5in.

Andrew.

I wont go any further then this…

IF you are going to make a Bolt in Cage, you do NOT do this…

you do this…

“IF” this is your work… I’m not basing your work itself, or your ability but the design or the Cage itself! their are so many different kinds of wrong with it that I wont even get into it but I would HIGHLY suggest you find yourself some FIA guidelines on building Roll Cages and stick to it 100%

That is a used cage, with 4 points of contact to the chassis and 1 diaganal back to the main hoop 4+1=5… I have never seen a cage with 5 chassis contacts its just what I called it to simplify things I’ve built plenty of cages that have passed chassis certification under IHRA and NHRA rules to run 9.99 and faster…

Its simple if u do not like what I am selling do not buy it, dont bother wasting my time this is a vendor section

Keep this discussion civilized.

Normally I would say if you aren’t interested, don’t buy it. But sometimes there is a benefit to all members from asking questions.

Just being in a vendor’s section does not preclude members from **respectfully** raising concerns they might have about a product.

This goes double for when the product is a safety item.

lol cusco/safety 21, they aren’t roll cages, they are roll bars to prevent twisting and such.

the only reason they may pass safety in D1 is because cusco sponsors most of those japanese drivers and they let it slide. I HEAR Formula D has the highest safety regulations, not sure if thats true.

i heard autopower is good. cusco is just for ballers and not for your hardcore enthusiast.

Ok I’m gonna appologize for my defensive outburst last night, I don’t enjoy being preached upon about what is the correct way of doing things and what is not.
I have over 10 years experience in the machining and metal fabrication trade.
There must have been a misunderstanding in what was happening I’ll accept any constructive criticisim, providing its kept clean, like any new product released by any company there will be conflicts of interest. There are plenty of products in the after market industry that I or anyone else may not agree on the design of the product in question, but as a professional I like to keep my comments to my self and take it as a learning experience, If there is any way to better my products in the future I’ll take an idea or opinion, maybe its better or maybe it is not.

This is a public forum where people come and share there opinions, or lend tech help or just to meet people with similar interest.

We will porbally meet down the road at a meet or track day or something.
So lets keep it clean like we’ve been asked by the mods.

I can understand that to a degree but what you must realize is what I’m “preaching” is right from the FIA guidelines which are followed by Targa or the NHRA for good reason.

You also must realize that your experince or skill as a tradesmen is not in question. We are not bashing your skill such as welds or the way you may or may not have cut & bent the tubing… All we are stating is that “Design” you have gone with “much like the Cucso” regardless if you use different/thicker material is not up to standards if you join/bolt everything the way you do/are “from that picture”, infact its advised against in any rulebook I have came across UNLESS it is not “possible” to do other wise (which it can be) and even at that, it is allowed for rear stays only and also must be done proper with gussets. EVERY main hoop must be braced along with the rear stays and every joining section between the two must be gusseted (everything the Cusco design is not).

As far as I’m aware I did not post anything dirty or hurtful ? I added “constructive criticisim” and kept it clean yet I was still looked upon rudely. If you would like me to plan out turn the PDF rule book sections into jpgs and post them, where it states everything wrong with that “Design” (not your Skill or Experince) is wrong then I will. This is constructive criticisim from one fabricator to another who has dealt directly with the Targa Boys and have caged a few Cars now for them and I know first hand how strict they are with “bolt in cages” andwhat is and is not allowed. Yes every rulebook will be slightly different but in all fairness and realness, if it does not meet FIA Standards, then it should not be made… like D1s standard for 1.25’’ x .075’’ tubing, they do not call for any bracing or anything. Standards like that cannot be took serious one bit.

All this being said, I will apologize myself if you feel I have taken a personal attack at you as that was never my intent.
