i hate cops. i got a ticket for inspection, given 7 days to get inspected… get it done (PITA, thanks emage!!) and called them up… can’t show the cop in person, can’t take it to the station, can’t show the magistrate, and can’t mail it in… i HAVE to sign ‘not guilty’ (which i bitched about, because i was guilty, pretty hard to fight out of date inspection stickers) and go to court … waste a day off work and show the pig the fucking paper and leave… what a total WASTE of time… just so that everyone gets paid and the state / county / township makes their money… cops suck… ---

i cant find the tinting laws for pa and ive done a search… we cant tint our back windows dark right ? just not the sides ? ---

The side windows behind the driver and the rear most windows may have a sun screening device that is designed to be used on automotive safety glazing materials that has a light transmission of not less than thirty-five percent and a reflectivity of not more than twenty percent. If a sun screening device is used on glazing behind the driver, one right and one left outside rear view mirror is required. ---

Hannibal, Then what you can do if your tinit was 21% light admitance is challenge when the last time their meter was caliobrated and they have to produce documentatiion. Silver - No you can;t tinit any windows on a car. [www.pacode.com](http://www.pacode.com) PA Also updated their code to where they are going to start tracking tint offences. 1st 100 fine, 2nd 200 fine, 3rd 30 day plate suspension. Mike here is what the law used to look like and it conrtadicted its self with the phrase "allowed to see into the vehicle then it had Table X which advised that you had to have 70% addmitance all around **(e) Sun screening and other materials prohibited.–** No person shall drive any motor vehicle with any sun screening device or other material which does not permit a person to see or view the inside of the vehicle through the windshield, side wing or side window of the vehicle. This subsection does not apply to: A vehicle which is equipped with tinted windows of the type and specification that were installed by the manufacturer of the vehicle or to any hearse, ambulance, government vehicle or any other vehicle for which a currently valid certificate of exemption has been issued in accordance with regulations adopted by the department. A vehicle which is equipped with tinted windows, sun screening devices or other materials which comply with all applicable Federal regulations and for which a currently valid certificate of exemption for medical reasons has been issued in accordance with regulations adopted by the department. A certificate of exemption shall be issued by the department for a vehicle which is: Registered in this Commonwealth on the effective date of this subsection and is equipped with a sun screening device or other material prohibited under paragraph (1) on the effective date. Equipped with tinted windows, sun screening devices or other materials for a physical condition that makes it necessary to equip the motor vehicle with sun screening material which would be of a light transmittance or luminous reflectance in violation of this section. (A) A certificate of exemption for medical reasons shall be issued only if the owner or registrant of the vehicle, or a person residing in the household of the owner or registrant who regularly drives or is driven in the vehicle, suffers from a physical condition determined by the department, in consultation with the Medical Advisory Board, to justify the exemption. (B) Any person requesting an exemption for medical reasons shall have his physical condition certified to the department by a licensed physician or optometrist. A certificate of exemption issued under this subsection shall be carried in the vehicle and displayed on request of a police officer. Upon the sale or transfer of the vehicle to any person who does not qualify under paragraph (2)(ii), the exemption shall be null and void. Prior to the sale or transfer of an exempt vehicle, it shall be the sole responsibility of the owner or seller of a formerly exempt vehicle to remove all sun screening or other materials from the vehicle. At the time of the sale or transfer of a formerly exempt vehicle, the owner shall remove and destroy the certificate of exemption for physical reasons and provide the purchaser with a notarized statement setting forth the name and address of the owner or seller, the vehicle identification number, year and model, and the business entity and process used to remove the sun screening or other material. If the PA people didn;t read all that basically they incoperated the 70% into the actual code so its NOT seperate from Table X anymore and they incoperated a state wide fine / Plate suspension penalty. What most people don;t realize is your windows come tinited from the factory. That green tinit color to the windows has already tinited yoru window to 73% light light admitance putting you to 3% with in the legal limit. Don;t believe me go have it metered. I didn;t believe it either until I was shown by my retired chief first hand. Thats what that “soft ray” or equivalant shit is on your windows. Some cars in the late 80’s didn;t have it but after 1990 I believe they all came standard like that. Example of a vehicle with apsolutly no tinit could be the old dodge caravans and how they had that “fish bowl” distortion to them… ---

i got a warning today from pine cops for tint, the guy pulled me over on my way to work at 7.50, he was going the opposite way , slammed on his breaks turned around and gave me a warning, i have 10 days to peal it off, im not going to of course, ill go down the magistrate fight what i can or ill pay the 100 fine ---

What I really think is funny is when people tint their windows knowing it’s illegal and then bitch when they get busted for it. Grow the fuck up and obey the law, no matter how dumb it is. If it bothers you that much, run for office and try to change the law, until then either keep paying the fines or take it off and obey the law, but either way, quit bitching about it. ---
