I use to work in a shop that dealt with cars and big rigs, fixing rads and gas tanks. There is a paint/ coating that you can use to fix a leaky tank. All of ours where done out of house, so I’m not sure what it was; But the coating was only done on the big rigs because it was worth it. On a small vehicle its cheaper, easyer, and quicker to just replace the tank, since you are already dropping it.

My 2 cents is to get a new tank, unless your driving a transport.

the tank itself is perfect, i just want to coat the inside with something since i have it down and have cleaned it out
