# Funny story from the doctor's office today...

so, i had to go to some random doctor’s office today to have a drug test for a new job. as many of you may be aware, you can’t eat or drink anything but water for twelve hours prior to the test. (this is a blood test) they are looking for drugs and other medical pieces of information.
i get to the office and finally have a nurse start me through the process.
as i am laying on the medical table today at 9:30 a.m.:
**nurse** : when was the last time you ate or drank?
**me** : 5 p.m. yesterday.
**nurse** : ok, let’s start the blood drawing. are you going to pass out from the needle?
**me** : i might, but don’t think so.
**nurse** : ok. (starts drawing the blood)
she finishes and looks down at me
**nurse** : you don’t look so good, you’ve lost a lot of color.
**me** : i feel just fine.
**nurse** : don’t move or get up, just relax. i really wish i could give you some juice to drink, but i can’t do that until after you’ve had your blood drawn.
**me** : isn’t that what you just did?
**nurse** : oh yeah, i’ll go get you some juice, sorry.

Blood drawn for a job? Wow, that’s REALLY toeing the legality line. If I understood the material in my workforce management class correctly they cannot test for “medical stuff.”

not emo, just thought it was good. i didn’t feel that it altered my life, i just enjoyed it. oh, and the tears were from laughter with the combination of this woman’s idiocy and the appropriateness of the picture.

If its just drugs they are testing for, its fine. Now if you found out they tested for anything else, then that is illegal.
