Is there anyone here who installs garage doors or does anyone know a good dealer for them? My old ass wooden garage door got soaked from the melting snow last week and it’s falling apart. I have a new opener, I just need a door installed. How easy is it to install a garage door? Is it something that anyone can do? ---

It’s not too bad of a job to put a garage door on. Take your time, measure, and bolt the tracks on. Then the panels slide on one at a time. It’s better to have 2 people for that part. I’ve done torsion springs, too. Nothing to be intimidated about. You need 2 half inch rods to wind them up. I need a new garage door now and might get it installed. For some reason, installed products on your house don’t have sales tax. In the last couple years I got a new front door and hot water heater and had them installed. Say you’re spending $500-$1000 on a door, you can effectively save $30-$60 by getting someone else to install it.
