dirty car more wind resistance, get fuel in the morning, holly shit u guys are getting super serious lol
the best thing u could do IMO is get a daily that gets 35+ a gallon

For normal commuting, I shift at 2,000rpm. Neutral coasting when going downhill or when stopping at a red light.

i just drive. my toyota gets low 30s no matter how i drive… and my GTI gets like 36 on the highway, no cruise control, i hate it… city mileage varies. but my average tank(6-7 gallons) gets me anywhere from 150-210miles mixed driving.

I broke the spring on my gas cap door.I’m not proud, it sucks… but my habit is to max my credit card $75 pump limit at least every other day now. It’s to depressing to fill it… I want to know who has the profit and what its used for… dammit
BTW, Joes Service station got 10,000 gallons delivered the other day…the bill was 40k… .suggests he makes a little less than 5%… would have to sell 10,000 gallons a week to make 2k. Next time I’ll ask how much he sells a week.

i drive a stock 1.6L civic and i get like 20mpg :confused
probably because i go WOT all the time, never go the speed limit, havent changed the oil in 30k miles, along with the plugs/fuel filter. but i’m thinking i probably should now…

haha, that’s the lowest mpg I’ve ever heard of out of a civic. My car sucks at getting good gas mileage. I haven’t really kept track, but when it comes to city driving - which is most of what I do, the gas gauge dips real fast.

Yeah… you will probably never see the differnce from someting sooooo small. But you can maximize your economy in a Honda insight too. I get passed by hybrids all day. All I can think is that they arte missing the point. If I had one I would still drive it like a grand ma and get 60mpg instead of 38 - 40 like people tell me they get.

thank god for tunes… lol i used the gas economy tune in my car and i am getting about 35mpg in my v8… :banana
