Congratulations to all the same sex couples. You have every right to be as miserable as the rest of us. I’ve been all for this for a long time. As long as we kept religion out of it. What religion doctrine calls for is that religions problem. As far as the state is concerned, they should have no say in what constitutes a “marriage”. ---

I definitely don’t feel it’s a choice, do I have any “test studies” or actual research on the subject? No But, if it was a choice, why choose that route when there is so much stigma involved with it socially? Also, how would explain the guys that get married and have kids only to find out later that they are gay? They chose to marry a woman because of social norms even though they were/are attracted to men. And cossey, you spout off on this subject like you have dedicated your life to researching this, when in fact your knowledge is based on one experiment, covered in one class you took. All research can be biased. ---

All research can be biased. I just think people underestimate the power of choice. Maybe gayness is because of a chemical imbalance, but there is choice involved as well. I think too many gays use the “chemical imbalance” as an excuse so they feel they do not have to explain everything. ---

New York is certainly the biggest dominoe to fall in the fight for same sex marriage in this country. We live in a liberal state and this was going to happen sooner or later. Do I agree with the decision? No not really. As a conservative I believe only in traditional marriage and since a same sex couple cannot conceive a child naturally I believe it’s against the laws of nature. With that being said however I don’t wish the gay community harm or ill will in any way. I believe everyone regardless of sexual orientation has the right to be happy and pursue their dreams in this country. ---
