This buy is on behalf of and made possible by Roman (ID: Dr. Strangelove), our newest member. I have been talking with him for quite a while now about these via emails. I am buying the cluster just to swap its speedo with mine. **Location:** 4 clusters to be shipped to my address (in Toronto) for the group buy once orders and then payments are collected. I am willing to deliver the clusters to their buyers within a reasonable distance (FOR FREE!), say 45mins drive maximum or so from Scarborough area. If farther, I will provide directions for the buyer to pick them up at my house. **Timeframe:** When the buy ends and the last payment is received, Roman will ship the units out to my address from Germany…so likely in the 1.5-5 weeks range of end-date, depending on shipping speed and when you’re available for me to bring them to you. **Cost:** $180 Canadian everything in…unless you’re out of my “45mins approx. range”…then just the cost of picking it up at my house in Scarborough! **Payment:** Please only join this buy if you are committed and have the funds. sorry for being ignorant, but how would one go about calibrating the speedometer and tachometer? or is this a plug and play sort of deal? ---

No worries dude… As I understand it, the speedometer assembly can be removed from these and “plug & played” in our clusters, accurately. Hence the demand! As far as the tach and other functions, I am not positive. Roman or someone else here may well be able to answer that. ---

What does the USDM cluster go up to? What if i plan on going more than 240km/h, does the car go through a wormhole? ---

From what i’ve seen it seems: USDM/JDM/CDM = 180km/h generally EDM = 240km/h (at least some?) ---

As for the speedo, it should be accurate. The wheel on the speed sensor adjusts the difference of the differential on the different SC types, so the signal it gives should be the same on all of them. Just the speedo internals are different and process the signal matching to the speedo type… It can be remover quite easily from the cluster. That’s my info so far. This particular speedo will go beyond 240 as you can see on the second pic. That was taken on the German Autobahn with a 300+hp CA18det car 🙂 Of course you can put a 300 km/h face on the speedo. Inside of it there is an adjustable resistor where you can adjust it. But for that you should better go see an electonics specialist who has a frequency generator… ---

Okay, here’s what were gonna do. I’m gonna get the first cluster now, he’s sending it to me right away. I’ll install it on my S13 and make sure he’s good for it and the 240 km/h speedometer works well…as in it indeed IS plug & play. Essentially, i’m my own guinea pig. Yay me. This process will take about 1.5 weeks to a month or so. Then, i’ll update this GB or repost it (depending on how mods want to handle this) with the remaining 3 clusters for sale (once I know their speedos work). I’ll keep you all up to date! ---

Okay here’s the dealie… My cluster is going to be slow getting here sadly, like around 3 weeks from now or so kind of slow…BUT when it comes i’ll throw the speedo in my S13 ASAP and take it from there! New bulbs, aluminum bezel hopefully, 240km/h speedo, yum. So basically, i’ll be able to tell you how it worked out by end of May-early June, and then we can get the others shipped over etc… I will definitely keep you all up to date. ---

If you take colour tissue paper and tape it to the back of the rev cluster where the 6-7-8- is… But with every increasing number you use a darker shade of red??? I know the clusters already have a redline but doesnt cover the numbers… But I want it too look crazy… is this a bad or good idea? ---

Yeah, that is it…just the 4 are available. Sometime later down the road more clusters/speedos might become available, but I just don’t know at all right now. I’ll post later on once i’ve got the cluster and/or got it installed, and we should be able to go from there! ---

My speedometer/cluster has arrived early, it is exactly as described, kinda neat! I will be VERY busy this week, but I will try to have the speedometer installed on my car as soon as possible, and will let you know how it goes! 1. DarkForceJackal - Paying by PayPal 2.
