# Get rid of stickies

Especially in FAQ… if it’s in FAQ it’s already important. Get rid of stickies!!!
and take them off in other sections as well, do your jobs you lazy admins!!! 😉
Who the hell reads stickies anyway, for the first time ever I found an official joke thread after being ticked off by them!

I just did this on [KA-t.org](http://KA-t.org).
Moved all the Stickies into a new section called Hall of Fame.

^^ basically what our FAQ section should look like.
It’s either desticky them all for no reason … or just delete the clutter?
But I really don’t know what the problem is now … ?
It just makes it easier because people can post into the FAQ section if they want and if it’s decent it will get stuck, if not it will slowly drop off the bottom of the page …

I don’t like seeing Mods posting there FS/WTB items as stickies. Not fair to the rest of us trying to sell real items. I thought this was posted by somebody here before, or was it deleted in some conspiracy theory?

Well I’m not sure I’m the best person to answer because you don’t see me doing it … if only for the reason I don’t think it generates any more attention then a regular post.
But at the same time us mods don’t get paid anything or get anything special for all of our hard work (except complaints usually when people disagree with one) so I think it’s a small price to pay for clean boards and happy mods.

I will agree that Mods shouldn’t get special priviledges to post their
FS/WTB as stickies. I remember doing it once myself so I kind of give
every other mod a one time as well.
That reminds me, I just un-stickied this:

Sine he already had his shot with the sticky for the clutch.
I’ll try and play fair. Mod or no mod, if someone steps off the line, I’ll try
and use my judgement as fair as possible.
As a mod, we shouldn’t be really asking for anything special just for diong
our ‘hard’ work. I’m sure there are a billion others who wouldn’t mind
filling our shoes. If you want to become a mod for one of the sole
purpose of expecting something in return then you shouldn’t be a mod.
It’s a volutary position. Don’t like it? Leave.

I’m admin and I don’t sticky my own stuff, so nobody else should either.
For FS posts, if there is enough interest, people will post and things will rise to the top by themselves. If your crap sucks and nobody wants it just
give it a bump after a week like everyone else.
Stickies make things a mess, but I try to do a cleanup myself once a
month to unsticky old events and irrelevant crap. The How-To section is
too much a mess for me to have bothered yet. Sue me.
