# Getting a mic. to work on the computer (for ventrilo)

You don’t need drivers for a mic unless it is USB… Your mic uses your soundcard drivers, so if you have working sound (with the correct drivers) you should be able to use your mic… Make sure your mic volume is up in your sound properties and you probably will want to turn on mic boost.
