whats it called…where they fix up cars - that ricey show)…
And guess who’s in it…Giancarlo (remember him as KaOz)…

i didn’t like it at all. How did they finish paint on that car in 2 hours??
And they ran a 16.3 1/4 boosting a Honda engine :lol:
All the work and money and my stock SOHC with bolt on’s could give them a run for there money.

u can run high 12’s in an EG hatch without turbocharging it and spending less than $5000 using all OEM honda parts…
these guys have no friggin clue what they are doing…

lol 5000 using all oem honda parts,
a b18c5 is 4500 alone these days for one in good condition with lsd and that will get you mid 13s all motor on a cold night with a good tire and a pro run
youll need some
cams
header
intake
new intake manifold
and a gutted to nothing eg to high 12s on slicks consistantly

Not to sh1t on Gian Carlo or anything because he’s a good guy, but his automotive knowledge is very limited… Unless something has drastically changed in the last half a year, in which case power to him.

i agree, but he actually has learned a lot in the last half a year. i still dont know where that would put him on the scale.
why was he on the show?? did anyone actually watch it?

i’ve seen the slips and the dyno sheets
EG hatch, GSR block, R head, B16 pistons or some crap (cant remember exactly)… all OE honda poo putting less than 190fwhp down with a 12.9
pass.
i was chatting with the guy last weekend at his shop.
also, another honda friend picked up a JDM GSR engine that apparently does 175hp and a bit more tourque than a usdm version for less than the price of an SR… that engine in an EG hatch (gutted of course) with mild mild tuning will run the same times.

ya iv seen him on other shows lately too. i cant remember what it was. i think an episode of overhaulin. i dont get it. hes fairly useless when it comes to cars. what could he possibly be doing on these shows?
ps. when i see gian carlo on a car show, that makes me not want to watch it. it suddenly loses all credibility as a serious show

It wasn’t that bad. It seemed like the Family channel version of biker buildoff. Props to Giancarlo for doing it, I’m sure most people wouldn’t be able to go through with it.
My only criticism is that they didn’t really show any of the process, just the drama and the final results. The red car was ghey IMO, the black one looked good (except for the neons).
I would watch it again.

Agreed. The producers will kill it for each and every car that is aired, no matter how nice or how crappy the car is.
I really don’t understand it…how hard is it?
Hire someone who knows the scene and is established in the scene, ie known for having correct information, unbiased, connections, valid thoughts and opinions. Someone who already has respect in the scene for being knowledgable and so forth to run the show.

Taste is in short supply.
Unfortunately people that appreciate nice cars are in the minority.
People that get distracted by blinking lights and jubbly bosoms are the majority. Shows like this are never aimed at car people, just posers. Like American Chopper. What a stupid show. Let’s watch fat aneurysm guy yell at his arty-farty god-complex son as they both thumb through OTHER COMPANIES’ CATALOGS and piece together a “custom”. Then they have the shop monkies put it together. The son ends up “fabbing” some stupid little billet accessory and they all dance around like they invented water. That’s not custom, it’s LEGO on a bigger scale.
That other dude with Giancarlo … the Legendary MC guy … what a poof. He’s almost as bad as his insipid friend from the same show. Nothing like watching a car than needs a scuff and paint go through an 8 month six figure restoration. They wanted $10Gs to paint my Cougar … 10!!! That’s if the car didn’t need body work.
