BigRon, did you get the Memo? _"On Tuesday, G.M. sent a memo to Chevrolet employees at its Detroit headquarters, promoting the importance of “consistency” for the brand…_ … one way to present a consistent brand message, the memo suggested, is to stop saying “Chevy,” though the word is one of the world’s best-known, longest-lived product nicknames. … A postscript to the memo says a sort of cuss jar — a plastic “Chevy” can — has been situated in the hallway. “Every time someone uses ‘Chevy’ rather than Chevrolet,” the note said, the employee is expected to put a quarter in the can." > **[G.M. Chevrolet sounds better. When I hear “Chevrolet” a picture in my head pops up of some of their newer, better designs. When I “Chevy” a shitty old Camaro comes to mind, maybe being rope towed by a rusty old Silverado. I guess GM web designers didn’t get the memo yet. I agree with what you are saying Jay, but for the wrong reasons lol. Chevy to me is classic , more along the lines of classic American muscle. When I hear of Chevrolet I think new as well. But I think more cookie cutter, with no real flare. Something my Grandma would drive But for both Chevy/Chevrolet there are a lot of pieces of junk (that goes for any manufacturer, not just Chevy). ---

When I say Chevy I think of muscle cars. Excluding its pickup truck line, the entire brand has been an epic fail since 1988 when the last real car rolled off the assembly line, the Monte Carlo SS and all other gbody varients with different badges. Since then, the fourth gen camaro, in lt1/ls1 variety only, and MAYBE the GTO tho ugly as balls and sullying an iconic name, the presence of the LS series engine makes up for it. Other then that, the cavabalt and every mid size car they have made since 1988 has been an utter failure. Triumphing this would be the cars made in the mid to late 90s. Irony is when a civic without a motor fetches more money than a running perfect fake monte carlo of the same year. I’m a GM guy, but this mess, they call the american car market, is entirely of thier own doing. ---
