I have to take mine like…yesterday.
So basically should I sign up for one of the prep classes? Or just read the study guides I have? I am thinking I am going to do the study classes but just wanted some insight from a few of you that have taken it.

I just went over the provided review material on the English side the night before, figured I didn’t have to worry about math since I’m an engineer taking a business test. The math part kicked my ass. Who the fuck remembers how to calculate shit by hand? Every question was like “Oh, fuck. I remember that from high school… Fuck how the fucking fuck do you do that by hand?” Just all obscure shit that isn’t hard but you’ll have long forgotten. I scored like 90th percentile on english and 50th on math or something embarassing like that.
But overall it wasn’t too hard. If I were to do it over again I wouldn’t bother with the classes, I’d just get some printed material and review it on my own. Like get a book and a couple of practice exams and take the time to understand every question.
I’d say start with the study guides. If they seem tough then have me and Joe over for beer.

I have been looking over a study guide I downloaded but really need to spend some time on it. My biggest concern is I am haven’t taken basic math or English in almost 8 years now. Since I took them at UNC before I joined the army. oof

I took it last year to get into grad school for accounting. I would buy a review book and just work through a bunch of problems so you can get a feel for it. My thought on a review class was that I would rather read through a book on my own and get a solid understanding, versus forgetting what some person tells me in a review class by the time I get home. I prepared about a week in advance and did pretty well. This is the book I had that ended up being very helpful.

I take it on Friday. My ability to relearn basic English and Math is failing me. ☹
Just eeked out a 610 on a practice exam though so that is cool. I would be happy to get around 550 or higher day of.

Canisius is my prime target, I am going to apply to UB, and Niagara as well. I will probably shoot an application to George Washington University and 1-2 other bigger name schools just for the hell of it.

My school had a computer booted up with a test so I ran through it and got the score I was looking for. Took the test and got about the same. But definitely worth taking a practice one on a computer to know how the questions and testing works.
But I understand how after being in the real world most the basic school math has escaped me.

Thanks man. I am working through “Cracking the GMAT” from the Princeton Review. It is pretty good I have certainly been able to identify my weak areas. I didn’t have time for a prep course due to poor planning on my part unfortunately. Luckily I have an outstanding GPA in the event I bomb.

I have taken three practice exams so far. 520 with no studying, and 550/610 in the last three days. Just going to brush up on some basic math and sentence correction.[COLOR=“Silver”]

It’s more just being comfortable with the format than anything. My score from practice exams to the real thing went up over 100 points and I attribute a lot of it to simply getting familiar with the way the test works.

I thought you were already taking some kind of classes from past posts I remember reading?
UB just celebrated some big achievement this week as scoring pretty high as a business school and the only one recognized in WNY.
