Fuck that lol. I actually used my snap on battery pliers on a 01 grand prix. Worked like a champ. I probably would have used the tool but the car was blocking all the usable cars in the backyard :mamoru:

9 out of 10 times if you remove the lever on the back of the caliper it will push in.

does a 2000 t/c have those annoying calipers? the only chrysler one that ive seen that have those gay ones are 87 turbo cars. 88 they went to shoes inside the disc hat and everything ive seen after that had that style. the pics at [rockauto.com](http://rockauto.com) showed standard calipers. not the annoying kind.

the dodge vans do not have internal parking brakes so they use the actuator style caliper

then why do they sell these?

2000 CHRYSLER TOWN & COUNTRY 3.8L 230cid V6 FI (L) : Brake/Wheel Hub : Parking Brake Shoe

![http://info.rockauto.com/getimage/getimage.php?imagekey=297946&imageurl=http%3A//info.rockauto.com/Raybestos/761PG-1.jpg](http://info.rockauto.com/getimage/getimage.php?imagekey=297946&imageurl=http%3A//info.rockauto.com/Raybestos/761PG-1.jpg)

and why do the calipers look like this?

A-1 CARDONE Part # 184774 More Info {[Caliper w/Installation Hardware] Reman.}
Rear Left; Original Equipment Phenolic Piston
Rear Right; Original Equipment Phenolic Piston

![http://info.rockauto.com/getimage/getimage.php?imagekey=369183&imageurl=http%3A//www.cardone.com/Imagesftp/18/184774-01.jpg](http://info.rockauto.com/getimage/getimage.php?imagekey=369183&imageurl=http%3A//www.cardone.com/Imagesftp/18/184774-01.jpg)

they sell them cause they use internal parking brakes.

you might have to take the caliper bracket off to get the rotor off.

if there is a rust lip, it might suck to get the rotor past the shoes if they dont retract back far enough. they should though. its not like drum rear brakes where the shoe has to ride right at the drum inner surface so you dont have a soggy pedal.
