# Good mechanic to do Tune up

Hey,
my car seems to be hesitating quite abit and sometime wont even hold
an idle. i wanna get a tune up and figure out what the problem is
and i would prefer to take it to a good mechanic who knows japanese
cars.
anyways where is a good reliable place to go??

One of them mechanics at Yellowhead Honda used to be a Nissan guy. It’s quality work but the labour charge is a killer, $90/hour :eyes

There are so many things it could be and it could be different kinds. Like when is it doing it for you? Sometimes hesitations only come in when the car is cold or hot or whatever. How severe is it? We need sooo much more info from you before anyone can even start anywhere…

I am having the same kind of problem and i am guessing its missfiring…
Car needs a little gas when turning it over to start it, without tap to the gas, it turns, catches up, rpm goes to 2k than drops back down again and stalls … but when u gas it it idles back up , for a while it goes smooth but than starts dropping and going up again (missfiring) , and that’s all during cold start , once the engine is warm it’s just fine … i am currently running through the injector cleaner additive with this tank, plugs are fine, wires are fine… timing maybe !!!
and how about ericksen nissan ?! good place for a tune-up/mech.inspection ?!

When I first purchased my car last Sept it ran rough, idle was up and down and would stall at certain points. I had taken it to Speedworks and they located the problem of an exhaust leak. They fixed it and it ran great!!

same symptoms but when engine is warm still hesitates. i thought it was because weather would be cold and damp then hot and dry. plugs and wires are fine(pretty new). the muffler is missing.
i drove it on the highway for about an hour on cruise and every once and a while i would
feel it hesitate and then it would be fine for 20 mins or so. most of the time the idle will
catch up from running at 400rpm or so, but sometimes it will stall if i dont catch it.

actually i have new symptoms … i realized that it is not 3k rpm range when it starts clogging … it’s 0.1 0.2 bar boost … when the turbo starts boosting at first, it runs lean and stutters … than cleans up after 0.3 bar and doesnt stutter all clean all the way to 0.8 bar (running low max boost cuz i am scared )
Where can i take my injectors to be blueprinted and machined ?

I had the same thing happen to me with my Supra, it was just the fuel filter!!

Yes, if you have to take it in to a Nissan dealership, Ericksen should be first on your list. They have the best service dept. of the 4 Nissan dealers in Edmonton… AFAIK that hasn’t changed yet.

well changed the main fuel filter already … i guess i should not be lazy and change the fuel filter for the additional injectors already 😕
