Or maybe it’s bad news if you read what’s actually in the Buffalo River now and needs to be taken out.

Probably bad news considering how much more traffic will be in the area. Plus, while they’re dredging, all that shit will be stirred up in the river.
Anyone else find it funny that they’re taking the stuff and dumping it on another waterfront property? Great forward thinking there Buffalo.

You’re right it will definitely increase the traffic during the dredging and then probably in general after. And yeah that’s ridiculous that they’re just moving the shit to another location instead of getting rid of it. Typical Buffalo.

Has anyone ever opened their eyes underwater? Is it even possible? What the hell does it look like down there?

Also, most of the pollutants are in the silt/sediment. By dredging it they are just stirring it back up into the water. We had a similar issue with the Des Plaines River in IL and ended up with huge fish kills.

Meh, I’m still going to swim there today after work.
However, I’m definitely staying out of that water for a while once they actually start dredging. I’m curious as to how long it will take for those pollutants to either settle again, or work their way into Lake Erie. The Buffalo River doesn’t exactly ‘flow’ in that area.

Well I mean you make channels out of the dam, but it makes it so less water is flowing through easier for clean up efforts. how fast is the current that it will cause flooding? I mean as long as you have some way for the water to flow past, you are good.
