I think that boat needs to lose the lame looking sun-shade.

Ha… I just installed the top today. We got it for the baby, but we’ve wanted one for a while. When you spend all day out there it’s nice to be able to find some shade.

I got mine there. \<300 shipped for 82" wide, 6 feet long, 40-46" high and genuine Sunbrella fabric. I went with the aluminum poles, not stainless, but it shouldn’t be an issue on my boat that’s stored in the garage and never near salt water. Took a couple hours to install mostly by myself.

And even with a high SPF you still need a top if you’re going to be out there all day. Last year we spent an entire sunny day out (10am till dark) and I was putting on SPF 50 every 3 hours, more when I was in the water. I still ended up burned. Any higher SPF will make it rain. 😉

It’s got the torque. As long as the tongue (sp?) weight and all that other towing stuff I don’t know about is good, why not? :tup:

Let me know how this works out, I’m really curious. Only place I could see a problem is lowering it into and taking it out of the water/trying to get wet traction coming up the ramp with a manual and 17" low pro’s

Wow… I really expected someone to call :bsflag:
Because I was full of it. No way I’d get rid of my evil SUV, at least not while I still own the boat. Being able to haul the boat, me, the kid, my wife, a few friends and our gear for a day on the water \> my 4 seat, almost no trunk GTO.
The car was sitting in the grass since I never park on the street because the drivers ed car constantly uses my street for parallel parking training. I got curious how it would look hitched up to the boat, so I just backed it up within a couple inches of the trailer. 🙂
I miss my old fire engine red Ranger. It looked sharp pulling the boat:

Hell, with an LSD and 245 tires I’m sure the GTO has way more traction than my old open diff 2wd Ranger. Never had an issue with the Ranger, even at the Lewiston ramp that feels like it’s about 45 degrees. When I eventually do put a hitch on it the only thing I’m really concerned about is the relatively light rear suspension and the tongue weight. By then hopefully I’ll have the Pedders big bore shocks and their Track I springs though.
