Available in December in Japan, to tied people over till GT5 in '08. Ferrari is confirmed, now if they’d just add real Porsche’s I’d be happy.

Oh yeah 😃
but I’m curious about all the talk of downloadable tracks, and paying that I’ve seen from the threads on GTPlanet.
From what I see though, it looks nice, but I don’t think I’d buy it. It’s like GT4 PRologue all over again. Sure the HD aliasing is nice, but unless the online play somehow equals what Xbox live can do, I will probably wait until the _real_ GT5 comes out. Plus by then, the hype over the PS3 will have died down, possibly along with the price 🙂

Players can purchase cars for ¥50-100 (about $0.45 to $0.85) and courses for ¥200-500 ($1.70 to $4.30). Initially, over 750 cars and 50 tracks will be made available.

Well in gt4 you could buy cars from specific tuners… I remember having a VW GTI all done up, fast as hell and won me a bunch of races. Big Wing, Jap Decals. Fast and Furious stuff

That was the feeling I got from following the GTPlanet thread. WEll as long as they have those initial 750 cars and 50 tracks come with the game, I won’t have a problem with it 🙂 The cars for purchase had better be really special.
This is where Forza did some things right, by allowing full customization of the cars in the game including paint and decals and allowing players to trade amongst themselves using the in game money system. Hopefully Polyphany was taking notes and implements something similar to GT5.

I have no problem paying for a few cars/tracks to hold me over till GT5. I’d say I use less than 15 cars and 5 tracks normally anyway. Autum Ring, Nurburgring, Midfield and Suzuka get the most use for me. Man I wish they would include Watkins Glen.

Nurburgring4Life. If only I could do the 1 lap driving mission…
Online play really appeals to me, since transporting the setup is too difficult. I’d probably not bother with any additional cars, though. Maybe if they were special enough - like the Polyphany F1 car (I love that car) - it might be worth a couple bucks for it.

Both games have their pluses and minuses. There is no clear winner, at least not yet.
