# GT5 drifting question

hey guys
got a question about drifting on GT5
no matter how much i try i can’t maintain a proper drift, and drifts a bit and spins out.
let say i got a mazda rx-7 FD
what are the specs for suspension & hp i should set it to?
and tips for making a proper drift?

Gran Turismo is garbage unless you have a proper wheel to play it with. G25, G27.

try using a car with more torque… rotary is harder to maintain drifts cuz if you let the rpm go down your done… try the 350z with stock suspension set up… I find it is pretty easy to drift. If that gets boring tune it and then start playing around with the full suspension and the diff settings. If you still can’t do it… more practice.

set hp to max… set suspension to stiff, play around with that thickest possible swaybar for rear camber in the front
diff settings are more important set it too full lock on acceleration
rx7 fd is a trickier car to drift on there tho

uhhhhhh,
If your trying to drift on the controller , and cant. Then you just suck, because anyone with a controller is able to do dirty’s.
I’ve had the logitech g25 & currently have the logitech g27,
The Rx-7 FD is more of a controller set up.
I have lots of set ups for different cars,
but my honest suggestion is to find a “drift car” from the used car dealership/online dealership.
I bought the s15 Silvia Drift spec for like 300,000 credits, and it comes with the suspension settings already tuned.
Cars I’ learned how to drift with first: s13 silvia maxxed out, Mazda miata NC ( maxxed out ) & the Mercedes benz c6.3 amg.
Those are actually 3 completely different cars but if you try them out with the proper settings you’ll get the hang of out quicker than you would with these 800 horsepower buicks and TVR"s that everyone uses for the online challenge.
but for random cars
suspension: camber front: -3, rear -1,
height: lower in front than rear.
Brakes. 10 in rear , 1-2 in front ( acts as a ebrake for those who dont have one )
Differential - Max it out
Gearing - play with it until you get it how you like it ( or just buy a drift car )
It took me almost 2 months to master the g27 wheel, but now I can have a blast for hours without going off course once, its pretty fun when other people are killing it too.

Here is a sub-forum from gtplanet of a thread I created: Settings for drift cars using wheels
ohhhhhhh and i found one of the biggest things to help you drift with the wheel is ACTIVE STEERING MILD, and COMFORT HARD IN THE FRONT\< and SOFT IN THE REAR, that way the sticky tires help prevent the car from spinning out everytime you gas
