actually it was proven that same turbo kit on the f-bodies works pretty efficiently ---

Wow… hello to last year. The STS Rear-Mount Turbo Kits are actually highly proven. The turbine housing/wheel is designed to work w/ the higher density/lower velocity exhaust gasses that are present @ the rear of the car. The overall volume of the pressure tubing going to the front of the car isn’t much more (if more at all) than that of a traditional FMIC and all the surface area of the tubes act to cool the charge. They don’t have lag… at least at the boost levels they’ve been run so far which is all less than 1 bar. I imagine on a 4cyl trying to push closer to 2 bar lag might become a huge issue… but it is even w/ a traditional setup. When you’re talking a 5.7 or 6.0 V8 (depending on if it’s a '04 LS1 or '05 LS2) GTO and probably 8-10psi (since these kits are intended mostly for stock internal motors) lag doesn’t really exist. I rode in a STS rear-mount equiped Firehawk (5.7 LS1) set to run 8psi. It reached full boost at part throttle! If the car was just dead floored at super low RPM it still had full boost nearly instantly, by or before 2k RPMs. Oh, and it pulled like a mother fucker. -TJ ---

amount of gas an engine produces does not determine how fast a turbo spools…turbos don’t spool from exhaust pushing the turbine but from the pressure difference from before and after the turbine wheel, the greater the difference the faster a turbine wheel will spin. the further downstream a turbo is on the exhaust the cooler the exhaust gasses are, you can put your hand over a tailpipe and not get burned you can’t do that to a header. i dont’ care if its’ proven to improve hp its not efficient…that same kit placed off the motor would more than likely make 50-100% more power. ---

i’m not hating, it’s thermodynamics, [www.howthingswork.com](http://www.howthingswork.com) if you don’t belive me, you could never in a million years use exhaust gasses to “push” the turbine wheel, they’re drawn through because of the pressure difference created from top to bottom in the housing,greater the differece, quicker the spool, i’m not making this shit up. ---
