# Gun guys, GSG5?

Well all my .22’s are from like 1950 or something and are about as accurate as a musket. But I’m looking to get this after seeing it the first time in the gun store the other day.

Its an exact replica of H&K MP5 sub-machine gun.
And .22 rounds are cheap and fun.
Just wondering if anyone has some input.

Its a good looking toy. I don’t have any experiance with it. I would try to find an accuracy report online just to make sure its not a .22 cal shotgun.

That’s a lot of scratch for what amounts to a novelty .22
If that’s what you’re into, go for it. It definitely looks like fun, but to me it does the same thing as a Ruger 10-22.
You can buy one of those for \<$200 and spend the rest on shooting.

My wife was supposed to buy me one, but the keep selling out every time they come in. If you can get your hands on one deff. buy it. I should have mine in few weeks.

I’m buying, I have no problem getting them. I like the looks, and the MP5 platforum seems like it would make a nice tactial looking gun.

Accuracy? Laughable at best. But I guess my idea of accuracy is a bit more than most people.
BTW - my .22 is 60 years old and still far more accurate than anything you can buy for under $3000.

I doubt accuracy is even something one would concern themselves with when choosing a rifle like that.
It’s like comparing a rimfire with a centerfire handload. Or a match falling block with a semi-auto. Just different animals, altogether.

I have only shot my .22 out to 200 yards, but I’d be willing to be it would out shoot any .22 at any distance.

Word. .22’s are fairly reliable and tend to last. As long as the barrel is kept rust free they almost never wear out.

I can’t get an accuary report at work, but I’m reading reviews on them keeping a tight pattern at 200 yards and no jamming issues with the good ammo.
Local hick town gun store he has 2 or 3. PM me if you want a number

I had to re-read, I took it literally as “anything” you could buy under 3,000. I know that a 22-250 can poke some real nice holes, can’t imagine a rimfire .22 could touch the groups, just due to the available ammo and velocity.
If that guy is accurate to 200 yards (I consider accurate to be 1.5 MOA or less for a rimfire, then thats really farther than you will use it. A rimfire .22 at 200 yards is well under supersonic, and starting to fall fast anyways. At the muzzle it is moving at 2,120 FPS, and at 100 yards its already down to 1,435 FPS. Its just the nature of low weight low pressure ammo.
In the end, it looks like a cool toy, and if its what you wants, and suits your purposes, get it. Hell get two and sell one, seems like there is a demand. The price of .22 is very attractive. Even after hand loading, .223 is costing me 20 cents a round or so.
