Your rifle must meet any criteria to the previous ban. Therefor you cannot add other features to the rifle. This has been the “general concensus” answer that has been given by the morons on the other end of the line. Yes it’s been gone over many times ion NYFA that 'well they don’t say I can’t have em all" but are you going to risk walking your AR into an NYSP check for registration with it having all those parts and then have them conf it on the premise that it didn’t meet the OLD law and therefor is an illegal weapon on the spot? FUCK NO is what I say.
The burden of proof would be on them to say that it didn’t meet the old law prior, but doesn’t mean they can’t/wouldn’t take it until it’s sorted.
Nobody knows what the reg process will be. Some have been told visual inspection, others have been told it’s just going to be a form you mail in. The major fucked up part about this whole thing is the people that are supposed to enforce it don’t even know WTF they’re talking about, and don’t have a solid consistent answer for anything in regards to the law. The law was made on a bunch of whims by people who have never held an AR let alone owned/fired one, and as such is completely fucking retarded.
Therefor, because of many reasons, don’t do shit. You shouldn’t even be calling that fucking hotline because you can bet that every offhilt question that’s being asked is being recorded into a database that will certainly be used to make amendments to fix this fucked up shit law, and it won’t be in our favor. they now know there’s a shit ton of loopholes and fuckups in this law and they’re going to do everyhting they can to save it and patch the thing up in the midst of upcoming lawsuits and stuff now.

My boss was saying this morning that he spoke with someone high up in the State Police. And they said to not even think about registering yet. Because they have no clue what is going on or how to handle it. He was specifically told by a State Trooper to wait for the year to be up.

Please don’t jump to conclusions that a good, local business would break the law like this. I know Bob @ Firefly personally, and he is doing everything LEGALLY.
Bob received word from NYSP that he can still order/sell AR lowers for the next two months.
