The concept behind these attacks is over connections like On star hackers can access the bus that connects all the individual computers…Same thing with exploiting vulnerabilities in the media parsing stuff in the on board radio via bluetooth, wifi, and even malicious cds lol

This gets really interesting as cars are more and more computer controlled with things like drive by wire throttle, automatic braking, even automatic parking systems that give the ECU control over the steering wheel.

Do  
Throttle = 100  
Brakes = 0  
If time = 2 minutes then exit do  
Loop  
Steering = 100 left

^ That would be some chaos. 🙂

I assume most people ignored the first video because it was an hour 🙂 the 2nd one I posted is much shorter.

This is some cool cross over stuff for hacking and car people.

Yeah that 2nd video is crazy. Although it looks like they needed to do a lot of work to take that much control?

Car is just ripped apart because they have been doing a lot of research on the topic they got a big grant to do it.

My understanding is it wasn’t that hard to do this over bluetooth, wifi, onstar, etc
