# Half-Life Players...

Hey guys. I just installed Half-Life and all the applicable updates. The error message “exec out of date” keeps appearing. I removed everything from the registry and reinstalled. Same thing. Is there a fix to this?

He’s just trying to get to multiplayer, I had the same problem once, and fixed it, but i forget what i did casue it was 357298739 yrs ago

Fixed, now another fucggin error “gfx/palette.imp” then brings me to my desktop

If you havn’t played it for a long time they changed everything. Make sure you are using steam.

That has replaced any half-life CD you own. And the CD is no longer used for installing HL. Valve is using an online distribution/verification system. You can use your CD-Key to register HL1 for free on it. This system also handles all updates automatically.
As for the HL-CD it’s now a coaster if you want to play online.
