> Its a fact that you can make more money working on more expensive cars than working on cheaper cars, is it not? I’m not by any means saying being a car mechanic is a good career or even really a career at all but if your going to do it than at least try to get as far as you can. The large majority of the people I went to school at UTI with that I still talk to now work at struggling independent shops or small assorted dealerships and hardly make any money. I on the other hand did well and got into Keeler Mercedes where I make good money for a 22 year old and have very stable work.

> Edit: Straight out of school my first full year I made more money than the average mechanic makes according to many different websites that I couldn’t tell you off the top of my head since I havent looked in a solid year or so. Not that I’m bragging because I’m making some huge sum of money, because I’m not by any means. But it goes to show that if you stick it out at UTI and do well it can set you up for one of the better jobs in the industry.

+1. The program is definitely worth it if you can keep your grades and attendance PERFECT and get into one of the dealer programs. I knew the program wasn’t for me because I lost interest in wanting to work on cars for a living. There’s a guy I talk to every now and then who finished out there and got into the Mercedes dealership and is doing quite well for himself.

Overall though, I think best bang for your buck HVCC has an excellent program in our back yard.
