Awesommmme!

> [Seabreacher X](http://gizmodo.com/tag/seabreacherx/) is a pretty tame name name for such a kickass bit of aquatic engineering. I don’t know how you can call a shark-shaped submersible that can jump 12 feet in the air anything other than _Jaws_. Or _AAAAHHHHHHH!_ Either way, it’s a marked upgrade from Innespace’s previous Seabreacher, which could travel up to 20mph below the surface but looked like some pansy dolphin. Seabreacher X can go 25mph when submerged, 50mph on the surface, and looks like it just ate Samuel L. Jackson in _Deep Blue Sea_.
> The subs are outfitted with a camera, a stereo system, even a video game system (which sounds safe). Future projects from the company include a more perfect barrel roll and, no kidding, a hammerhead edition, according to the [Daily Mail](http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sciencetech/article-1303661/Submarine-looks-like-great-white-soars-12ft-air-dives-waves.html).
> These are, not surprisingly, more expensive than you can afford at $100,000-plus. But at least now you’ll know to envy and fear them. So it’s an enclosed jetski? Don’t get me wrong it’s cool as shit, but for $100k and the description I expected it to be way cooler.

The price would be justified as you sneak up on some little 12yrold and breach the water 5 feet from him. I can only imagine that the look on the kids face would be priceless.

edit: seriously though, it looks cool, but it also looks like it would get old kinda quickly. especially at 100k.

My first thought after watching him submerge is… some drunk asshole is going to ride this around on a crowded lake and smash into someone/something. Not much visibility when you’re constantly flopping around and breaching.

Yeah, I think it would get old fast. It would be different if the engine had it’s own air tank so it could dive deeper or for longer periods of time, but as it’s designed now it can only go just below the surface while the engine breathes through a snorkel.

I could submarine my standup considerably deeper and longer than that thing. Pass.

50mph is really weak when most new performance skis do nearly 70mph and are 1/10th the price. Maybe they would profit more as a rental thrill-ride kinda thing.

the fact that you’re never getting wet, and that there is a sheet of water on the windsheild ruins it

100k for something that has been in the works since before i hit high school, and still performs like it did back then? Ok so they changed the paint job, and called it something else but i bet its still powered by the same jetski motor that the builders stole from the guy whos house they were house sitting. True story. I probably still have the VHS tape of the discovery channel recording from way back when.

But ya, 10k maybe. 100k?! i dont think so.
