If you got the fuel to keep the combustion temps down, it isn’t going to detonate. Pump gas + big boost = BIG fuel system! 1000cc injectors? auh…DUAL pumps??? :bigthumb:

I input all these numbers for you. This is considering you have a hella good flow intake/head and a mad efficient cooler. Look how awesome the GT32 and GT35 plot!! Even the GT37 isn’t bad. The only other one i’d look at is the T61.

> This FP3575 variant increases compressor flow an additional 10lb/min for a max choke flow rating of 75lb/min. The turbine wheel is also enlarged to GT37 specs. These turbos are built in standard issue T4 bearing housings and feature floating journal bearings and 360 degree SCREWED down thrust bearings. This setup has proven itself very resistant to failure over the years.

FP is not the end all of turbos at all. precision stuff is way way way way way better. they use better bearings and to be honest I have seen precision stuff make a lot more power than what they are rated for. FP is good but not the best and their new turbo line doesn’t impress me that much. if you want crazy power on a 4 cylinder use the PT71…Jasen Pennmen did over 700whp on that turbo and it isn’t even maxed yet and his car is a street car

you’re dumb the chra’s are garrett with garrett 360 degree bolted thrust bearings in both precision, FP, turbonetics, greddy, hks…they’re all the same

that is funny because turbonetics bearings and seals go very quickly. and I am not talking the bearing. I am talking the trim levels and potential to make power are all precision and straight garret turbos. stick to you DSM crap where everyone runs FP and run exactly the same times as everyone else in your pure race car that will be totally pointless on the street

all fp does is make a more efficient cast stainless exhaust housing the chra is garrett, the cover is a t04s, the bearings are garrett, the cold wheel is a garrett t67 and the hot wheel is a garrett gt37 so tell me again why it’s FP that sux?

the seals go quickly beacuse people are dumb and don’t realize that too much oil pressure causes oil to blow through the seals as a safety taking oil away from the bearing assembly. that’s why the GT turbos say 50psi max oil pressure and the garretts are the same way. the cheap canadian turbos used seals like that too back when SBR was selling them like jims first 60-1 with the to4s cover

let me enlighten this misinformationfull thread:

Turbonetics copied all the pre-GT series stuff from Garrett including CHRA’s, seals, bearings, wheels, housings everything, hence why garrett won’t give out spec’s on their turbos that aren’t off the shelf like a basic 60-1 for instance.

second you need to check what kind of bearings you have a 270 which is standard on most journal bearing turbo’s is what is usually provided unless you ask for it…

precision is NOT by any means better then garrett…stop misinforming people! precision uses cheaper housings and their flanges have known to warp due to excessive heat, where as a true Garrett housing will not do this!!!

Precision is cheaper and most housings are used are precision one’s!!! Precision making more power then garrett well that is not turbo based. It’s because precision does this on purpose. If they sell you a .48 a/r it’s really closer to . 50-.52 and hence why they can make more power…it’s all volume based…while with garrett you get what you pay for unless you specify and they custom make you a turbo! (if you are a distributor)

lastly a 50 trim: well no duh you won’t make serious power on it until it reaches about 22psi or so depending on displacement!!! If you ever look at a comp. map of that turbo you will understand that it doesn’ t get into full efficiency until those higher RPM numbers! 25.5psi on a t3t4 50 trim on a GTI made 419whp!

lastly there are companies like ITS that make nice housings, and use only 360 thrust bearings on most of their turbos! But, you have to remember the only way to get a great deal on a great product is to buy direct IMHO!!!

well if you want to get technical and not calling the brass oil rings seals there are still rubber orings around the compressor housing and the chra
