Putting 93 in a lower compression motor or a motor that does not require 93 to run can result in excessive buildup and loss in gas mileage

see my build thread and black heads for example, my dad used to love 93 in the Z even thou 93 was way to much for a stock N/A it never burned right and caused buildup and contaminents in the oil causing my heads to turn black

K20’s don’t have what commonly referred to as “lifters”. They have a camshaft, roller rocker arms and lost most assemblies.

you must also remember water/coolant is around the cylinders in the block cooling the cylinders(combustion temps = yowzaaaas)

I think she went there because her boyfriend is a mechanic there.

I tried Seafoam in my Mustang when I bought it and it didnt do a damn thing. Not even any smoke out the tailpipe like I was expecting.

Now I dont add anything to my oil or gas.

Seafoam isnt some miricle Ive never noticed any performance increase in any car ive run it in…

Its simply to help buildup on valves and in injectors…

Me and Jim both had smoking problems after running 110 leaded from the station here on altamont ave for a few weeks…

Ran seafoam and it went away… we think it caused some buildup on the valves and jims compression was low… after running seafoam is was completely fine…

Wehn run thru the intake it will help clean up carbon buildup on the pistons as well I’ve seen first hand

Id rather not dump anything into the engine. I didnt even use fuel injector cleaner in my last car and dont plan on using it in my truck.

I never noticed anything after using it.
I did feel a little difference with octane booster in my Neon though. Atleast I thought I did.

95% of additives are complete BS. Running seafoam through the car will just waste your time, and money without resolving the problems.

Oh, and running 93 instead of 87/89 isnt ANY better for your car. Do you think because you buy a “performance” car that needs it means the gas is better?? No. It just has higher resistance to detonation. NOTHING to do with the quality of the gas itself.

actually if your car says run 87 in it and ya run 93 or higher it will carbon up faster and run worse
